At House of Pottery, creativity meets community.
We’re an inclusive pottery studio in Otley, West Yorkshire. A welcoming space where people of all ages and abilities can relax, paint, and express themselves.
Our ethos is built on three core values: inclusivity, creativity, and support.
We believe that art has the power to heal, connect, and inspire — and that everyone deserves the chance to experience that joy.
That’s why we partner with local schools, SEND programs, and community groups to provide hands-on learning and wellbeing experiences in a calm, sensory-friendly environment.
Whether you’re joining us for a family session, a creative workshop, or simply a mindful moment of painting, you’ll always find a warm welcome and the freedom to be yourself.
At House of Pottery, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Our partnership with Green Meadows School and their Beyond 19 Program reflects our commitment to creating opportunities for individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We believe everyone should have the chance to learn, contribute, and shine within a welcoming creative community.
Creativity is the foundation of our studio — not just in what we make, but in how we work together. Partnering with the talented students from Green Meadows has brought fresh energy, imagination, and new perspectives to our process. Their enthusiasm and artistry continually remind us that creativity flourishes when people feel encouraged and inspired.
Being supportive means more than offering guidance — it’s about nurturing growth and celebrating progress. Through hands-on experiences and shared learning, we aim to build confidence, develop skills, and empower every individual we collaborate with. At House of Pottery, support is our way of strengthening both people and our wider community.

Wellspring Academy Trust is a community of inclusive, ambitious schools across Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire. United by a belief in opportunity for all, the Trust empowers its academies to be creative, compassionate and authentic to their communities — providing the support and expertise needed to help every young person thrive and reach their full potential.

Green Meadows is a leading and innovative special school at the heart of the local community. An environment that is inspiring, creative and purposeful. One that values all experiences as learning opportunities to develop ourselves and each other. Green Meadows is a place where diversity is celebrated and barriers are challenged through daily opportunities for immersive and engaging learning.

The development of Beyond 19 will provide students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) valuable work experience, life skills training, and social interaction opportunities, preparing them for a more independent transition to adulthood—life beyond the traditional school years. The collaboration and mentoring from House of Pottery is the first stepping stone into creating a visionary, unique opportunity for pupils with SEND. One in which they can flourish and reach their potential. Showing along the way that having a special need or disability is not a barrier to living a full and fruitful life.
