The development of Beyond 19 will provide students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) valuable work experience, life skills training, and social interaction opportunities, preparing them for a more independent transition to adulthood—life beyond the traditional school years. The collaboration and mentoring from House of Pottery is the first stepping stone into creating a visionary, unique opportunity for pupils with SEND. One in which they can flourish and reach their potential. Showing along the way that having a special need or disability is not a barrier to living a full and fruitful life.
The Beyond 19 Program offers a unique and exciting opportunity for the pupils in Post 16 at Green Meadows to have real life work experience at House of Pottery. The pupils have already grown in confidence and are applying skills and knowledge leanred in order to run a succesful and hygenic cafe.
